What Does the Internship Office Do?

I. We Publicize Internship Opportunities

We forward information about internships, job listings, and other resources to our students.

II. We Coordinate the Rowland and Pat Rebele Journalism Internship Program and the Harry Press Stanford Daily Internship Program

Stanford University students have a unique opportunity to receive stipends for internships at qualifying news organizations through the generosity of a Stanford alumnus, Rowland Rebele, and his wife, Pat Rebele. The Rebeles established the fund to provide extra support and encouragement both to news organizations and interns in the form of supplementary stipends.

The Harry Press Stanford Daily Internship Program supports Stanford Daily Staff with funding for summer internships.

III. We Accept Applications for the Daniel Pearl Memorial Journalism Internship

The Daniel Pearl Memorial Journalism Internship is awarded annually to an outstanding Stanford student journalist and commemorates the work of Daniel Pearl, a Stanford graduate who was kidnapped and murdered while working as a Wall Street Journal foreign correspondent in Pakistan in 2002.

IV. We Accept Applications for the Steve Steinberg Reporting Award

The Steve Steinberg Reporting Award gives Stanford University students the opportunity to spend a summer working on a long-form narrative reporting project with guidance from a journalism faculty member.
